The House In Havana: Family Secrets, Betrayal...and Murder

About

Raised in Miami by her Cuban-American grandparents, Cate has always longed to be part of a large family. When she inherits her grandmother’s claim to property in Cuba, she seizes the opportunity to search for the villa—and the past her grandmother refused to speak of.

Cate’s joy at finding her great-aunt is short-lived when she is confronted by hostility, the theft of a valuable necklace and a murder that places her in the firing line of suspicion and threatens not just her inheritance—but her life.

As the web of deception and betrayal spreads to include her fiancé, Cate must decide what matters more: the truth she came searching for… or the future she never expected to find.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I have been to Cuba a couple of times but never to Havana but my husband is Cuban so I was able to ask him about parts in the book and it made me want to go to Havana and see all about what I read.

I could relate to a lot of the book and enjoyed the story and mystery. It kept me going until the end.

I loved the way The House in Havana makes you feel like you are in warm Havana right with the characters. If you like a little bit of romance novel with a little bit of thriller vibe check this book out.

I always love to read books set in places that I have never been to and this book did not disappoint. Going to Cuba to find out about the family history that she knew little about, Cate (the Main Character) is immediately drawn into family secrets followed by a theft of a beautiful necklace and a murder. The descriptions of Cuba are terrific. I enjoyed this book and thank you to NetGalley for allowing me an early edition of this book.
