Book #3 from the series: Bayswater

The Curlew's Scream

Praise for this book

I absolute loved this book!! I mean the first chapter started out with a bang and the punches kept coming. I loved Andi and her crew of people. Mac was really funny and sarcastic which I loved. I liked the banter between Andi and Mac. I loved everything about this book. So so good. Oh I loved JJ she was fiery and I loved her drive to become a PI.

The twists and turns in this book are amazing! I had seriously couldn’t put this book down. I loved everything I read this book in under a day. I had to know what going to happen. I didn’t know who to trust or what to think I definitely need more by this author !! Yall go get this book!!

The blurb drew me to the book but if it hadn’t the cover certainly would of, it’s gorgeous.
I didn’t realise this book was a sequel to The whispering palms, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of it and I will be sure to read the first instalment.
Andie and Mac are great characters and as the mystery progressed I was nervous in case something happened to either of them, which is always a good sign as to how invested in the story I am.
A gripping tale that had me second guessing what was going to happen and who to trust.
This is an author I will be looking forward to reading more from.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a great story, which I really enjoyed. This is the 2nd book in the series , I had not read the 1st book, but this can easily be read as a stand alone book.
It was a great plot with great characters. I particularly liked Andie and her determination to find answers.
A book with great twists and turns along the way, overall a great read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a book I went in to with an open mind and I really wasn’t disappointed. This gripped me from the beginning and I found it so hard to put down!

I loved the setting in North Queensland and I still need to make Australia a must visit place! Our characters are also brilliant! Andie is a fab female main character and Mac is also brilliant and I loved how this was all set from Andies point of view.

I found the story to be intriguing and once I started I found it really difficult to put down! I also didn’t realise this was a second book until after finishing so this doesn’t affect the read at all and I found I got invested in both the story and the characters.

All in all a fab read!

I found this to be an exciting story to read that gripped me right from the start. It is set in Australia, North Queensland but Andie and Mac get to move around in the search of Simon. An unforeseen complication that Andie and Mac encounter is JJ, Mac’s niece, driving Mac’s Monster van when she says she is looking for them. Mac takes JJ and Tally back to Bayswater leaving Andie alone to search for Simon but she isn’t the only one searching for him. It was intriguing to read a story set somewhere like Australia which is a country with such different terrain and temperatures then Britain. How the author wrote the story, you could visualise what was happening in the story in your mind like a film as you were reading so it made for a good experience. I really enjoyed this story and the storyline was excellent, it made a terrific reading experience. This story was extremely well written by the author and the descriptions in the story were wonderful and very helpful. The author gave a lot of thought to this story before writing it and plotted it well. The characters are interesting, they appear throughout the story as needed and detailed by the story. There’s usually a reason why they appear and if needed, they are well described to you. I like this story but can Andie find Simon and help him clear his name? Can she do it alone? What happened to Mac?

This is book 2 in the series of Andie Yates mystery books, but it could definitely be read as a standalone. This was a well paced, single POV mystery which I was found really engaging.

I’ve read Annette’s previous book, and really love her writing style. There’s just enough description and Aussie lingo to transport me to Australia, but without having to check what any of the slightly unfamiliar words mean.

I really loved the plot of The Curlew’s Scream, I really enjoyed the element of Andie trying to help her ex, I’m not sure I’d be so helpful to mine! There were quite a few threads to follow, but they all tied together neatly at the end.

Overall this was an enjoyable, quick and easy read. I hope there’s more to come from Andie.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

I enjoyed this book. It was a good mystery with lots of suspense. It was a page turner. It kept me guessing which was fun.

The story was written well and was descriptive. I liked the different parts of North Queensland we visited. They all sounded so charming. The story flowed well. It was plot hole free. No unanswered questions. The story wrapped up really well.

I liked the characters. Andie was a great FMC. She stood up for what she thought was right. Mac was my favourite. He was just brilliant. He was another one who did what was right.

The story was written in first person entirely from Andie’s POV. For the type of story we were reading it worked perfectly.

I definitely recommend this book to you all especially if you enjoy a good mystery.
