The Murder Inn-James Patterson and Candice Fox

Although it’s been a while since we’ve caught up with those quirky, unpredictable yet lovable characters at The Inn by the Sea, it didn’t take long to get reacquainted. I couldn’t help connecting with this collection of misfits who have somehow managed to find hope, new beginnings and a refuge at the Inn.

In The Murder Inn, the residents’ peaceful lives are disrupted by a fleeing mother, missing friends and a widow’s life crisis. Of course, ex-cop Bill, former FBI agent Susan, Sherrif Clay and army veteran Nick step up and helpeven though it puts lives and the Inn at risk.

The sub-plots in the novel are cleverly woven together and help create a fast-paced, action-packed (almost Reacher-esque at times), suspenseful novel. There are some great gut-gripping and heart-hugging moments.

The Murder Inn is an easy and enjoyable read. The good news?  It looks like we could be getting another invitation to visit the Inn and our favourite characters in the future.

I can’t wait.
